The difficulties of doing business in China as a foreigner have been well-documented for years. With that in mind, GWC was founded to help technology leaders better navigate the Chinese market and vice versa. GWC offers a private network for executives to build trusted relationships, develop international growth strategies, and workshop around product internationalization.
GWC also produces GMIC Beijing, the largest mobile internet conference in Asia. I oversaw all English-language marketing for the expo in 2013, leading to a 120% spike in international attendees.
Unlike their western counterparts, Chinese apps act as generalist. In a smaller consultancy role, I was responsible for advising clients on mobile strategy and launching in China's fragmented Android market.
